Big Fall Kickoff Weekend Trip – Virginia Creeper

The big fall kick off trip will be in Damascus VA at The Virginia Creeper. The Virginia Creeper Trail is a scenic 17 mile bicycle ride that’s mostly downhill. This is a great trip to invite a friend who might be interested in joining Scouting.

Cost will be $40 for your non-scout friend and $20 per scout (the troop is picking up the additional $20 per scout), plus food costs for non-scouts and scouts. All those that RSVP will be invoiced immediately and rental/event fees must be paid immediately. There will be no refunds issued once the reservation has been made.

Leave: Harrison Church at 5 PM Friday, August 26th – return Sunday, August 28th about 3 p.m. Scouts will call when en route to the church for pickup.

Camp: Little Oak Campground

The weekend will also include our annual planning meeting and is a great time for rank advancement sign-offs and ScoutMaster conferences.

There may be an opportunity to reduce trip costs by bringing your own helmet and bicycle if it is in excellent mechanical condition and you don’t mind if the paint gets scratched. This option is limited due to limited space for transport of the bikes, and scouts who RSVP first will get priority.
