Departure from Church: 4:30 or as soon as everyone has arrived
Dinner: We will be stopping on the way up to eat, please bring money.

Saturday, June 12th:

After breakfast at our campsite, we will be heading to the outfitters to receive our bikes and instructions for riding the VA Creeper Trail. Our rental includes the bikes, helmets, and water bottles. However, if you prefer to wear your own helmet please bring it along. You also need something that can fit on your back or tied to your bike to hold your lunch, more water, and personal effects for that afternoon. Rain Gear is a good suggestion as well. Everyone will need to wear closed toed shoes. Personal First Aid kits is also a good idea. Be advised there are several stores along the way down the trail that you could stop and buy food or drinks at. Also, once at the bottom there are ice cream stores as well. A little spending money might come in handy.

Kings Mountain Backpacking & Golf Classic Photos Uploaded

The pictures from our recent backpacking trip to Kings/Crowders Mountain have been uploaded to the Troop Photo Site. For the Golf Classic this past weekend, I’ve created a new version of each teams’s group picture that I hope you will like and uploaded them along with some of the candid’s that were taken. Please let the other team members know about the site, so they can download a copy. Thank-you to Mr. Jones and Ms. Miller for all the help with pictures this weekend!

As always, please let me know if you have any other pictures that we can add to the site.

Million Meal Mission Help Needed!!

Dear Harrison Scouters:

On June 17th, the Mecklenburg County Boy Scouts will be soliciting volunteers for the Million Meal Mission taking place at Harrison Church. To drive awareness, we have created www.duty2others.org as a website to watch a video on this event and for members of your Pack or Troop to volunteer as families, dens, or patrols to participate.

This post is to encourage the 502 families to select some times for the Million Meal Mission on June 17th. In a way, we are the host Scouting organization and it would be nice to see us grabbing slots early.

It looks like they need the most help at 12 noon or 3pm on this day. I know the Scouts will be out of school so hopefully we can give a few hours of our time in this great cause.

Thank you, in advance, for your assistance with this. Please sign up at www.duty2others.org
