Communication Merit Badge

For those working on the communication merit badge (Eagle required) please note the following:

For a workbook, please see https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/merit_badge_reqandres/communication.pdf

Requirements 1D, 2B, 6 and 9 have been completed at troop meetings.

Please come prepared with your blue cards (we have extra if you need one) and the following completed items to the January 25th meeting:

3. Write a speech to say at our January 25th meeting.  It will be timed, so make a full  5 minutes long. An online search of “great five minute speeches” will give you lots of ideas.

4. At yesterday’s Troop 502 meeting, you interviewed another scout. Prepare an introduction for them as a guest speaker or interview someone you know fairly well, like, or respect because of his or her position, talent, career, or life experiences and do a guest speaker introduction for them.

5. Attend a VIRTUAL public meeting (videos of past Charlotte city & council meeting are at https://charlottenc.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx and past Charlotte School Board meetings are at https://www.facebook.com/pg/cmsboe/videos), or any other public meeting or debate. Do #5 and share with Mr. Fisher.
7 Do 7 a, b, or c and email or show to Mr. Fisher

Merit Badges are easy to earn. All you have to do is

    1. choose a merit badge you want to earn

    1. complete and email your blue card to your Scoutmaster at SM@Troop502.com who will sign and approve your card and help you find a counselor if you don’t have one.

NOTE – You may not start or complete a merit badge until approved to begin by a leader. You must work with a counselor approved for training with that merit badge.
